10.26 Weekly Impact Statement

Dear Church,

Tuesday night we have an opportunity to make an IMPACT on our community by hosting an anti-drug summit. Local professionals including prevention specialists and law enforcement will be here at TVCOG at 6:30 to share with students and adults about the dangers of drugs, prevention and treatment. Please share the attached ad on your social media to help us get the word out.

Those helping with Trunk or Treat, please arrive at K-Mart and park by 4 pm. It gets dangerous if cars come later as the crowd tends to line up early. If you haven’t signed up yet to decorate your car, just respond to this email if you want to participate. If you can bring some starter candy that is great. The church will supply refills.

On Sunday, I preached from Philippians 1:6 about how God is completing a work in us. I reminded us that through the finished work of Christ on the cross, God has completed a work FOR us (salvation). We only need to receive it. I also shared that God is completing a work IN us (Philippians 2:13) which means His Holy Spirit is transforming us to become like Christ. Finally, God is doing a work THROUGH us as we serve others and tell them the Good News of His Gospel and that they too can be transformed!

How about we all get out of the way this week, and let God do His WORK! 🙂

Have a great week.
