Katy Kincaid
Children and Families’ Pastor
I’m Katy, the Pastor of Children and Families’ Ministry. Throughout God’s Word, He teaches us to seek and serve Him, to teach our children about Him, and to live in, but not to live like the world around us. Kids today have incredible amounts of information at their fingertips. They are often confronted with “big stuff” before they are ready to process it, and let’s face it, being a kid can have its challenges. We are here to give kids a space to be themselves, to engage with their peers, and to help them learn about the Almighty God of the universe that cares deeply for them and wants to be in relationship with them.
I grew up in a Church of God household, and my dad was the guitar and banjo player in a Christian bluegrass group called, the Country Christians. A great deal of my childhood was spent visiting country churches, attending tent revivals, and sometimes singing with my dad’s group. I sang with them for the first time when I was just five years old, and at that moment I fell in love with ministering through music – I just didn’t know that was what I was doing at the time. At the age of eight, my sweet mom led me to Christ, and I have been in love with Him since then. Starting a relationship with Christ at an early age has been foundational to my life choices and the shaping of my life in general. I have been involved as a volunteer with the music and dance ministry at TVCOG since I was a teenager and have served in other volunteer capacities in the church as well.
In 2022, I accepted the call to full-time ministry as the Children and Families’ Pastor at TVCOG! I get the privilege of building relationships with rising generations of Christ followers and helping them build their relationship with Christ. With the help and support of a team of dedicated volunteers, we create a fun learning environment where kids are free to share their lives and their “stuff” with their peers and with adults who care, as well as to learn about God through Bible lessons, songs, creative activities, and meaningful discussions. My hope is that you will bring your family and children to a service soon and experience the love of God through our ministries!
