What an amazing Easter! We have received reports of some salvations and rededications! We had almost 700 in worship! Visitors are being followed up on! Our Mission Possible offering totaled: $22,222.10! Praise His name!

On Sunday I preached a message entitled “Come and See, Then Go and Tell.” Here are the highlights!

Matthew 28:6-7 “He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay. Then go quickly and tell his disciples: ‘He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee.
The Resurrection invites us to:

  1. Come and see God is bigger than our fears. In Mark 16:3, the ladies expressed fear that they wouldn’t be able to roll the stone away in order to anoint Jesus’ body. They were worried and afraid about something God had already taken care of.
  2. Come and see God is bigger than our enemies. God broke the Roman seal (which represented earthly authority) with an earthquake. God took care of removing the soldiers (which represented earthly power) who had been guarding the tomb. God triumphed over Satan by the cross (Col. 2:13-15). God proved that death has no power over those who are in Christ! There is no enemy left that can overtake us!
  3. Come and see God is bigger than anything that binds us. Jesus passed right through the grave clothes! They were still intact!Nothing controlled Jesus. Nothing bound Him or subdued Him. He chose to do the Father’s will. He wasn’t coerced or manipulated to do what the Father asked. He lived in full control while choosing to yield to all God asked of Him. Because of the Resurrection, we can also live in full control. No, we can’t control all of our circumstances, but there is Resurrection power available to us to enable us to respond to them as Jesus would. We can also be free from controlling substances, vices, and addictions that would seek to squelch our lives and keep us isolated.
  4. Come and see God is bigger than our doubts. Jesus wasn’t offended by Thomas’s doubts in John 20:25. He came close to Thomas to allow Thomas to investigate the evidence for Himself.

Those who have seen must go and tell. The women at the tomb were the first evangelists, the first to share the Good News of the empty tomb. There is no other event in all of history that has so shaped history and transformed the lives of people for the good than the Resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. Why do I give my life to the preaching of the Gospel and to trying to live as a disciple of Jesus Christ? Because like Mary Magdalene, “I have seen the Lord,” and once you see Him, you can’t keep it to yourself!
