Luke 15 tells the tale of three lost things: a lost sheep, a lost coin and a lost son. The lost sheep was lost because of FOOLISHNESS. The lost coin was lost because of CARELESSNESS. The lost son was lost because of SINFULNESS.
Even though the chapter deals with lost things, the highlight of the chapter is that the lost things become found! In that respect, the whole chapter is about restoration and recovery. What is it in your life that is lost and needs to be found? A dream? Direction for your life? Your joy? What
is broken that needs repaired? Your relationship with God? With others?
No matter where you have been, no matter what you have done, you are a candidate for God’s restoration and recovery. Whether you have been foolish, careless or sinful, you can rejoin the fold. You can regain your life’s direction. You can recover your joy. You can have your relationships with God and others restored. You can come home. Whether you are a sheep who went astray or a son or daughter who went their own way, God can bring recovery and restoration to every area of your life.
Praising God with you!
