Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Thanks so much for the cards and expressions of love on our five-year anniversary as your pastors. We are the ones who are truly blessed!
I Peter 3:15 “But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect.”
Using this verse, yesterday, I outlined it was time to “Get ready, get set, and go!”
We GET READY by submitting to the Lordship of Christ! We must make the decision to allow Christ to be exalted in every area of our lives if we are going to be an effective witness. If our lives don’t prove Christ is Lord, our witness means nothing.
We GET SET by listening to the voice of the Holy Spirit and by getting our own personal testimony ready to share! Philip was headed in a different direction in Acts 8 when God told him to start walking south. There he ran across a man who was sitting in his chariot and was reading the book of Isaiah out loud. At the prompting of the Spirit, Philip peeked his head into the chariot and asked the man if he knew what he was reading. The man wound up asking Philip to explain it to him. What an opportunity. . . all because Philip was listening to the voice of the Spirit!
Each one of you has a testimony. Share it from your heart based on your own personal style and personality type. (If you missed the message, read it in its entirety on our website. There, I highlight six witnessing styles.)
We are then to GO “with gentleness and respect.” We are to lovingly bring people to Christ!
There will be a BIG announcement made on Sunday! I hope you will be there! Keep fasting and believing God for great things and keep INVITING all you know to take a step towards Christ this week!
