Is. 43:18-19 “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland.”
Yesterday I talked about the new thing God wants to do in your life and in the life of our church. Using Isaiah 43 I suggested 4 things you need to do:
1. TACKLE your fears. (See Is. 43:1 and 5)
Before God can do the next new thing He wants to do in Isaiah 43:18 He told His people to let go of their fear. Fear makes you believe the worst! As children of God, we must not let fear dictate what we will or won’t do or how obedient we will or won’t be.
2. TURN your attention to the future. Is. 43:18 “Forget the former things. Do not dwell on the past.”
Don’t let the past anchor you in the past.
3. TRAIN yourself to see beyond the natural. Is. 43:18 “SEE, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up. Do you not PERCEIVE it?”
There is always more present than what we can see in the natural. Ask God to open your eyes to see where He is at work!
4. TRUST God to be a Waymaker. Is. 43:19 “I am making a WAY in the desert and streams in the wasteland.”
Isaiah 43:19 “I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland.”
Our God is THE GOD who makes a way where there is no way.
The extent to which God can do a new thing in your life is the extent that you will let God have His way. Close your ears to the voice of fear! Focus on what is ahead. Ask God to open your spiritual eyes! Trust God to make a way. What new thing will you allow God to do in your life this week!
With you on the journey,
Pastor Melissa
PS-Why not forward this to a friend who might need God to do a new thing in their life this week?
