Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Rejoice with me for the awesome way God was in our midst yesterday!  Praise God for a salvation in the first service!

The message was from 1 Kings 17:7-16.  Elijah found himself without food and water.  The brook he had been camping out by had just dried up due to a draught.  God told him to go stay with a widow woman in Zarephath and ask her for food and drink.  The problem was, she was also destitute.  She only had enough flour and oil for one last meal for herself and her son.

When you and I face the end of our resources, when our “brook dries up,” when we are desperate and running out of time, like Elijah and the widow woman, we need a Word from the God who is more than enough.  Ask God to speak to you every day about every part of your life, and ask His Spirit to tune your ears to hear His voice.

And when you think God is speaking or showing you something, like Moses in Exodus 3, move toward that sign.  Get closer to God.  Investigate the situation and ask God if what you are sensing is Him at work.

Elijah not only had to hear the Word of the Lord to go to Zarephath, but He also had to humble himself to ask the widow woman for help.  The name Zarephath means “smelting furnace, or refining“.  Zarephath was going to be a place of refining for Elijah.  There he would be stripped of any remaining pride, any self-reliance.

Elijah humbled himself to ask for help, and even though the widow woman only had enough for herself and her son, she made Elijah something to eat.  When she did, she learned that our “more than enough God” will pour an unending supply into our lives if we are willing to give Him everything!

What is not enough in our hands is more than enough in God’s hands.

Are you in a situation where the problem is big and the supply is little?  Do you feel like time is running out and you are close to the end of your resources?  You need a WORD from God.  Maybe you haven’t been humble enough to say, “God I can’t manage this.”  You can pray and expect God to do exceedingly abundantly above all that you could ever ask or think of (Ephesians 3:20).

Join me in praying for God’s supply for our future at Teays Valley Acres!  I am believing God for a million dollar gift and want you to pray with me for God to supply it!

Pastor Thom and I are at the North American Convention in Anderson (our annual convention for the Church of God) and will return in time for church on Wednesday.  If you would like to watch any of the evening services, tune into:  www.chog.org.

Blessings for a great start to your week!
