Rejoice!
3 people gave their lives to Christ yesterday in our second service!

Luke 8:4-8 4 While a large crowd was gathering and people were coming to Jesus from town after town, he told this parable: 5 “A farmer went out to sow his seed. As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path; it was trampled on, and the birds of the air ate it up. 6Some fell on rock, and when it came up, the plants withered because they had no moisture. 7 Some seed fell among thorns, which grew up with it and choked the plants. 8 Still other seed fell on good soil. It came up and yielded a crop, a hundred times more than was sown.”

The farmer in this parable with liberal with his seed scattering. It went in hard, unlikely places as well as on fertile soil. Although many won’t accept the seed of the Gospel when it is being sown, SOME will! And because SOME will it is worth making EVERY effort to scatter the seed as often as possible in as many places as possible for the SOME who will accept it and will allow it to be planted firmly in their hearts.

The path can be a hard place to sew seed. Take some Living Water and pour it at the feet of an addict, a homeless person or hooker. Sharing the love of Jesus with those who are down and out goes a long way when it comes to creating fertile soil for the Gospel.

The rocky areas of life can make for a tough climb when sharing the Gospel, but we must keep expending the effort because SOME will finally have their rocky, stubborn hearts busted into pieces and will be transformed into pliable people who are filled with the Spirit of God! Keep climbing those rocks looking for some places to scatter some seed!

The thorny areas can cause us personal pain as we get entangled with people who just don’t want to hear about the Lord, and it can cost us something personally. I’m afraid our political correctness has caused us to adopt the philosophy that we are to mind our own business. That’s not what Jesus commanded us to do! He has told us to mind His business, and His business is the spreading of the Good News of the Gospel of Jesus and the love of God! Jesus didn’t say, “I came to mind my own business!” He said, “I came to mind my Father’s business.” (Luke 2:49)

In Acts 17:22 Paul said, “I have become all things to all men so that by all possible means I might save some.” Paul went into difficult places and engaged people where they were in order that some would be saved. Today, share the Gospel for the SOME who will accept Jesus.

Do it for the some! Let’s go scatter some seed today, church!
