Dear Church,
The darkness that fell for three hours while Jesus was on the cross in Matthew 27 gave way to the light of the early morning that first Resurrection Sunday in Matthew 28. The wrath of God had been satisfied through the shedding of the blood of Jesus. New life had been made possible because Jesus died and rose again. The contrast between darkness and light both at creation and at “re-creation” reminds us of what God desires to do in our lives. “Behold, I am making all things new.” (Rev. 21:5) Have you moved from darkness to the light of God’s salvation? If not, allow Jesus to be born in you anew today and to re-create you from the inside out! Just say this simple prayer: Dear God,
I realize I am a sinner. There is darkness in my heart and life. I want you to come into my heart, dispel my darkness and make me new. I take you as my Lord and Savior. Fill me with your Spirit and help me follow You. I accept the new life you desire to give me through Your life, death, burial and resurrection. By faith I confess I am now a Christian. Old things have passed away, and behold all things have become new! (II Corinthians 5:17) Thank You for saving me and re-creating me. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Let me know if God’s Light has come to your life! I am praying it is so!
