Dear Friends,
I hope you are walking with some PEP in your step today!
Praise
Expectation
Prayer
The disciples were continually praising God after Jesus ascended into Heaven (Luke 24:53). The Christian life is to be a life of praise! Hebrews 13:15, “By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.”
We also need to develop a life of expectation. Jesus told the disciples to wait in Jerusalem and expect the empowering of the Holy Spirit. After Jesus ascended in Acts 1, angels told them to expect Christ to return one day. That realization helped them get to work sharing the Gospel. Expect the Holy Spirit to work in and through you in supernatural ways. Expect the return of Christ at any moment in order that you can stay focused on the mission to win the lost.
Third, to walk with PEP in our step, we need to develop a life of prayer. Acts 1:14 tell us that between the Ascension and the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, the disciples were in constant prayer. Listen, prayer precedes any great move of God. Prayer precedes any empowering of the Holy Spirit. Prayer precedes any major cultural transformation. Prayer precedes any revival. Prayer precedes any miracle.
Remember, the National Day of Prayer is this Thursday! We start with breakfast at 7 and the church will be open all day long for come and go prayer. If you haven’t RSVP’D for breakfast, please do so we know how to plan.
Blessings!
Pastor Melissa
