About God
God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He is the Father of Jesus Christ. He is our Father and provides all the needs of our bodies and souls. He is present everywhere.
About Jesus Christ
Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of God. He gave His life as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of the world. He arose from the dead and is alive forevermore. He is Kings of Kings and will be finally victorious over all evil. He is the only way to God.
About the Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit is co-equal with the Father and the Son – three persons in the Trinity. He is the “Comforter” who dwells in the hearts of people, convincing them of the truth of Christ’s teachings, and helping them live holy lives. The Holy Spirit’s presence is the guarantee of our relationship with God and the source of Christian unity.
About Human Beings
People are by nature sinful and cannot make themselves good. We can only be made righteous by accepting God’s forgiveness for sin through Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross. We will be given a new life because of our relationship to Jesus Christ. We are designed for everlasting life.
About the Bible
The Bible is the inspired Word of God. It is our only guide to show us what we should believe and how we should live. It is for everyone to read so that all may hear God speak to their hearts and minds.
About the Church – The One Family of God
The fellowship of all Christians – There is but one universal church made up of people of every race who believe in Jesus Christ, regardless of denominational affiliation. Jesus Christ is the Head of the Church and the members are his Body. As the body of Christ, our task is to carry out the work He began – to make Jesus Christ known to the whole world.
About Membership in the Church – Spiritual Birth
We believe that membership in the universal church comes through a personal relationship to Jesus Christ. A person is born into the church through a spiritual rebirth or awakening. Only God can place the member in the church.
About the Ordinances
We have three ordinances instituted by Christ in the new covenant: baptism, communion, and footwashing. Those who become Christians will be encouraged to follow the Lord in baptism. Communion is observed monthly. Footwashing is an annual, special service on Thursday before Easter.
